How to Use:

What you'll need:-

- Biscuits (Flat pieces of wood)
- Biscuit Jointer
- Wood
- Wood Glue
- Carpenters Pencil
- Tilers Square / Ruler
- Saw
- Tape Measure
- Clamp

1) Measure out each piece of wood you are going to cut and assemble using the biscuits. Use a Bright Ideas Carpenters Pencil and either a ruler
or tilers square to mark out measurements for the cuts you are going to make. Additionally, if there is any nailing or gluing to be done it is best to do so now.

2) Cut the pieces of wood to the measurements you marked out previously. When that is complete lay the pieces down on a flat surface to check that all the sizes are cut to the desired lengths. Once you are happy with the sizes take a Bright Ideas Tape Measure and using the carpenters pencil to measure and mark out the centre points on the wood for each connection point where a biscuit will be used. It is also recommended to add these points to the biscuits as well.

3) Before using the Biscuit Jointer please read all of the instructions that come with the product. When all the instructions have been read, look for a centre indicator on the biscuit jointer. Line the indicator up with the pencil marks on the wood and plunge cut the blade into the joint. Repeat this for all subsequent pieces of wood that need to be cut.

4) After all the pieces of wood have been cut with the Biscuit Jointer, place dry biscuits into each of the cut joints to create a temporary mock up design of what the finished piece will look like. This will give you an idea if anything needs to be change before moving on.

5) Once you are happy with the work piece proceed to use wood glue to start properly fixing the pieces of wood together. Apply glue to a cut joint and then lightly brush some glue onto the front and back of the biscuit. Place the biscuit into the cut joint and fit the wood together. For much larger projects such as cabinets it is recommended you use a clamp to firmly hold the work piece in place as additional attachments are glued and fitted together.
